While I was out running errands this morning, I was feeling a lot of love for you all – because let’s face it – you all are awesome. One of my stops this morning included going to OMG… It’s Gluten Free!
OMG is quite possibly the best place ever. They opened their doors in the spring of 2010 and were one of the only gluten free resources I had after going gluten free in the previous fall. Their gluten free goodies are so rich, so decadent – and definitely do not taste gluten free. My mom regularly buys their brownies (oh. em. gee.), and my brother, who turns his nose up at the thought of anything gluten free, always steals a few from her whenever she makes a stop at the store.
Not only are their baked goods delicious, but the owner is quite possibly one of the nicest people around. When we were planning our wedding, the bakery that was doing our cake assured me months ahead of time that they would be able to make a tier of the cake gluten free so I could enjoy some cake on my big day. Well, low and behold FOUR DAYS before my wedding, they called to let me know it would not be possible. They were afraid of cross contamination and did not feel comfortable making a gluten free tier. Would have been nice to know ahead of time, right? I forget who had the idea (probably my mom) of going to OMG to see if they could make anything happen, and they delivered – literally. When I went in and explained my situation, they were able to make my own cake without hesitation. Not only were they able to make my cake on such a short time frame, but when I went to go pay, the owner would NOT let me pay. She claimed I had already been through too much stress and she wanted the cake to be a wedding present to me. On top of all that, they hand delivered the cake to my parents’ house the morning of my wedding so we didn’t have to go to the store to pick it up.
Yes, that totally happened. The Husband thinks he’s hilarious. This is what I deal with people. 
Needless to say, this store has quite a soft spot in my heart.
They have grown immensely in the last few years and some of their baked goods, frozen pizzas, and frozen lasagnas are now in grocery stores (specifically a few specialty health food stores and some Whole Foods in my area) and they partnered up with Disney last year! So if you’re ever in Disney and you see one of their packaged brownies or cookies, you HAVE to try them. Seriously. Do it.

Oh yummy! This place sounds divine! If only we had something like that in our small town (heck, i’d settle for a starbucks these days). I go through phases but my current two fave baked goods are trader joes fat free brownies from a mix (don’t knock em until you’ve tried!). Add in dark chocolate chips and underbake them and they are insanely rich and gooey/yummy! On the other end of the spectrum, I’m obsessed with pumpkin oat muffins from fit sugar’s recipe — they also have dark chocolate chips and freeze like a charm!

My favorite baked good has to be Seven Layer Bars. Graham cracker, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, walnuts, coconut and condensed milk. Hm that’s only 6..am I missing a layer? Oh well, they are DIVINE!
